The death of a spouse is one of the most stressful events of an individual's life. For this reason, ongoing support for those widowed is so imortant. Often family church and friends are available to provide necissary support during the first difficult weeks of adjustment.

Bidwell Chapel and Brusie Funeral Home recognize the need for on-going service to the family. The following functions are offered as support for those in need:

A HOME VISIT can be arranged to assist in taking the difficult first steps toward beginning a new life. A caring helper will be able to offer assistance in understanding the normal grief process and explain the community services available.

A GRIEF SUPPORT GROUP is also available to help the surviving spouse. This group meets twice a month in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere and can be a sustaining infullence for those in attendance. This service is also available to family members.

Recognizing the importance of social interaction, the following functions are provided:

A no-host drop-in weekly breakfast to allow the widowed an opportunity to share with others in a smaller group setting.

A no-host drop-in weekly luncheon is held at local restaurants to provide the opportunity to socialize and make new friends.

A monthly newsletter and occasional social events are planned and offered to participants in the program.
